Taken out of storage this week, the vintage racing Amilcar is in very good condition.
We are carrying out a full appraisal for the owner with a view to returning the car to track and taking in some vintage
racing and events next year.
One of our present projects involves Super Charging an
"A" series engine for a AH Sprite sprint/hillclimb car. Fitting the Eaton Super Charger from the modern BMW
MINI has become popular but some of the fitting kits leave a lot to be desired. We have developed a fitting kit to mount
the SU Carb. directly to the Super Charger body. The pictures show the mounting kit, adaptor plate and final assembly.
We have also converted Triumph and MG gearboxes to straight cut, close ratio gear sets. Gearbox rebuilds
available on all classic cars and also Hewland Mk9 and FG400 gearboxes.
A change of scene for John Holmes Racing this year. During the last
couple of months we have taken a couple of packing crates of parts and rebuilt this 1937 Rolls Royce Wraith engine. Now refitted
to the car for the first time in 40 odd years, we are now making up a new wiring loom for the Wraith before under taking the
restoration of the body and chassis assemblies. The
Rolls project is on hold at present and our attention is now on the rebuild of a 1978 Ferrari 308 GTS. This car was stripped
and the body work refinished 10 years ago. We are renovating the boxes of bits and rebuilding the car, no doubt there will be a few bits missing!
